Oh, how excited I am! This monday is the official start of the Happy Detox Experience where I assist Happy Detoxers on a 10 day journey to health, balance and happines. All participants have already received a beautiful box filled with healthy goodies to make this 10 day journey an easier one for them.
I have personally designed and filled the boxes with my modern inspired Ayurvedic products. Boxes are tailored to the 3 Ayurvedic elemental types and include a 10 day menu with recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, kedgeree and mungbean soup mixes plus the cutest spice box laden with fragrant spice.
Since I am a foodie by heart the first 4 days of the detox contains delicious recipes from world cuisines such as a beautiful quinoa couscous and dollar sized polenta buttermilk pancakes. Detox? you say?. Yep! Soul Foodie stylie. These recipes are almost completely gluten- and dairy free and of course I only use natural sweeteners, again each tailored to the different body and mind types.
The second half of the detox is stricter with Ayurvedic detox classics such as kedgeree, mung bean soup and lassi. But to add a modern twist I have included some vegetable juices for breakfast as well. And so today I am sharing the recipe for the Blues beating Beetroot buster with you here.
Finally let me give you a great daily detox Ayurvedic tip that is part of my personal daily routine. After scraping your tongue and brushing your teeth have a mug of boiled water with a bit of lemon juice and some ginger if wanted. A great way to rehydrate your body after a night of sleep and to flush out toxins that have accumulated overnight. Make sure that your cup is pretty like mine, and says “I love You”. What better way to get your day started!

- 1 small boiled and skinned beetroot
- 50 ml beetroot juice (juiced from 2 raw medium beetroots)
- 125 ml apple juice (juiced from 2 to 3 medium apples)
- 125 ml carrot juice (juiced from 2 to 3 medium carrots)
- 1 teaspoon sunflower seeds
- small piece of ginger
- pinch of cinnamon powder
Blender everything together until you have a nice thick crimson red juice.
Rode bieten, wortel & gember juice
recept vr 1 persoon
- 1 kleine gekookte en geschilde rode biet
- 50 ml rode bietensap (gejuiced van 2 medium rauwe rode bieten)
- 125 ml appelsap (gejuiced van 2 tot 3 medium appels)
- 125 ml wortelsap (gejuiced van 2 tot 3 medium wortelen)
- 1 theelepel zonnebloemzaadjes
- klein stukje gember
- snufje kaneelpoeder
Blender alles tot je een smeuige knalrode juice hebt.
